ALCO-HAULE HAULE!!

I think its officially time to replace the word 'socialize' with 'alcoholize'.

Lets face it, for most of us, for most of the time, with most types of company (with the exception of aged relatives on some select worship days), there is no socializing without alcoholizing.

Don't agree? Read my list of Top 10 things people find increasingly difficult to do without booze. (if you do agree, feel free to add to the list!!)

1. Sit with random colleagues beyond work hours, for more than half an hour.

2. Flirt.

3. Sit with 'friends' for more than one hour.

4. Share personal life details (especially details that nobody is interested in)

5. Initiate sex

6. Be truthful

7. Be nostalgic / sentimental

8. Appreciate poetry. (Or nature. Or childhood).

9. Prepare for Monday morning. (or begin Friday night)

10. Appreciate one's spouse.

11. Attend a wedding where alcohol isnt part of the spread.

Yes Tirtha, the wedding one was a close contender for my top 10 as well, but since in most parts of India weddings are strictly non-alcohol affairs, and one can't possibly avoid all of them, I sort of left it for one of you to put in!!

Main to yeh bahut pehle samajh gaya tha. Why not take booze out of the scene and not end up doing what you never wanted to do in the first place :-)

I agree with you on most counts except i was wondering... what about guys like Ranjit? I wonder how they do anything that's interesting or fun? Need to get his views on this one.

As for me, alcohol is the one magic ingredient that makes the most boring and mundane situations or people sufferable and, in a lot of cases, fun ;)

Well, Tripti, remember I fell in love with Ranjit when he was an alcoholic... heh heh heh. Mujhe kya pataa tha mere saath ye dhoka ko jayega!

Riya,
First time on your blog ...so first ..Thanks ..Good stuff..One more feeling factory :)
Second, I agree with only 70% of your list ,

So, There are three kinds of Drinkers, I call them A type , B Type and C type. A type are usually starters, alcohals works like steroids, gives a free push and speech gets an unadulterated push. Second Type , Type B have a hectic , intellactually bankrupt life and their journey starts Inwards the moment they have their third drink, for first two they will talk abt brands of alcohal, weather , politics and traffic in Gurgaon ..second drink ...teh use of adjectives come in handy and third drink gets them nostalgic , third type consume alcohal as a part of diet, looks around and try classify....A types are usually sub 30...B types are usually a lil mature ...rhymes logic ...?
